Abstract:
In the last years the integration of interactive whiteboards has increased the presence of multimedia technologies in the university teaching activities. Interactive whiteboard provide ways to show students anything which can be presented on a computer's desktop (educational software, web sites, and others). Interactive whiteboard uses a computer connected to a projector and a touch-sensitive whiteboard. The projector displays images from the computer and the computer is controlled by touching the board with an electronic pen. Teachers can display Internet Web sites, run educational software, show live video, give multimedia presentations, all in an effort to engage students in interactive learning [1]. Among the different resources that this new device provide, internet is probably the one with higher potential.

At the present time, internet has become a prominent source for teachers. Bruce and Levin [2] posit that the Internet can be viewed as providing the following three basic types of tools in the educational domain
- Tools for inquiry
- Tools for communication
- Tools for construction

In addition, in the web is possible to find free sources that can be very attractive to approach concepts to the students. Nowadays, websites as youtube [3] provides simple way to find videos related to almost any topic.

This study describes innovations by using internet facility in teaching a course developed in the area of Chemical Engineering. The developed methodology for each class was based on a PowerPoint presentation in the interactive whiteboard. In some cases, to explain with drawings or photos some matters or topics can be complicate, specially related to operational ways of mechanical devices. Therefore, different videos from internet were linked in order to obtain a better comprehension of the topics.

It can be concluded that use of videos from internet, has shown that students were better able to comprehend the presented topics. In addition generic skills as foreign languages were trained.
