Abstract:
The COVID-19 pandemic meant the definitive increase in online classes. Nowadays, online tools have become an interesting complementary resource to traditional teaching. A better knowledge of these tools will contribute to increase the interest of the students and to achieve better results. In this paper, we propose an analysis about the use of the teacher's image in classes based on online teaching platforms. We focus on the effects on students' perceptions of whether the teacher is credible or not, as well as the student's affect or affective experience as central mediators linking teaching behaviors with student learning outcomes. In this sense, it is proposed to carry out an experiment among university students to evaluate the effect that the appearance of the image of the teacher has on affective bonds. For this purpose, we conducted a statistical analysis that allows us to draw conclusions about it and to relate the information obtained from applying a questionnaire to the students and the dataset collected through the eye-tracking technique.
