Abstract:
Communication in nowadays society cannot be understood without the influence of so called Web 2.0: an internet that promotes content creation and sharing among its users through the different devices they employ on a daily basis (smartphones, tablets, computers, etc...). This community-oriented character has favoured the surge of platform such as YouTube, Twitter or Facebook, which have redefined how information flows from one net user to another. While their initial focus was not educational, their widespread usage has prompted the creation of educational channels such as Khan Academy or YouTube EDU. As mentioned before, one of the main advantages of these online platforms is their high accesibility through commonly used devices, making them a set of worthy tools when considering the creation of educational content and/or planning formative activities. Despite some disadvantages (e.g., reliability of content, suitability of materials, requirement of an internet connection), their incorporation into the teaching-learning process is mostly positive, as they favour sociability and inclusivity.
The aim of this project is to promote the use of these IT tools in the teaching-learning process in the Pharmacy degree at UCLM, which would allow the development of innovative educative materials that improve and refresh the teaching-learning processes. This project will be founded upon the implication of Pharmacy students, whose activity within it will help them to acquire crosscurricular competencies described in the degree of Pharmacy such as: T2 (management of scientific information, bibliography, specialized databases and Internet resources), T5 (Organization, planning and execution skills) and T7 (workgroup capabilities and leadership skills). @FarmAMenseña will employ social networks for the dissemination of innovative educational materials that aim to scientifically explain daily facts in a funny, yet rigorous manner. Keywords:
