Abstract:
Introduction:
Nowadays teaching context is undergoing with changes in the binomial teaching-learning. This requires a more active participation by students for a better assimilation of knowledge, skills and competences. On the other hand, it is also necessary that students´ know how to apply this knowledge in practical cases. In the subject of Biochemistry in the Degree in Physiotherapy, students often have difficulties in integrating the theoretical contents into practice ones. Thus, sometimes they end with a lack of interest in the subject, mainly by the difficulty of finding applicability for their professional future in a comprehensive manner. In order to motivate students and approach them to laboral field, students and teachers will provide real cases in the UGR virtual platform. In this way, students could perform real case analysis using a biochemical focus.

Results:
Our results show that around a 62% of students did not have any previous biochemical knowledge and their interest in the subject was low, showing a medium degree of understanding (6.9 over 10). Around a 70% of students declared that the study of real practical cases was useful as a complement to their theoretical classes, and it facilitated and motived their self-learning. Around a 42% of students have changed their eating habits after learning the subject; and a 100% believe that nutritional supplements sold in gyms do not have any beneficial effect. A 92% of students have considered that the use of new technologies (TICs) has allowed a better communication between teachers and classmates. All students consider that working with real cases have been useful for strengthening and acquiring knowledge for their professional practice.

Conclusion:
This initiative has been well received by students and it was useful to assess the learning level and the consolidation of concepts in this subject. Likewise, students have been able to have their self-evaluation for determining their knowledge along the course.
