Abstract:
The present study aims to analyze the virtual social interactions carried out by the elderly in a course of digital inclusion in Brazil. Each year the number of older people increases, which requires new educational approaches that contemplate the use of digital technologies (DT), in particular those of the internet. Thus, it is pertinent to analyze how the social interactions of the elderly are formed through the use of different technological resources. The research had a qualitative approach of the case study type. For the data collection he used sociograms as well as extracts from the interactions carried out by the elderly in a course of digital inclusion offered at a Brazilian University. In this research, 8 elderly people aged between 68 and 75 years, all of them female. Data analysis has shown that the social interactions that the elderly establish through the use of T can be a way to contribute positively during the phase of life that involves the aging process. The course of digital inclusion contributes significantly to the process of social inclusion, as well as to the establishment of social relationships with family or friends through technological resources.
