Abstract:
Human beings seek, from the beginning of humanity, safety, and information. The first obstacle was to find shelter, then the discovery of fire, while opening themselves up to a constant state of learning. Over the centuries, men accumulated learning lessons of safety facets that enabled them to feel protected and secured, thus to learn more in all sciences.
Today, with the number of settings that surround us, safety becomes more prosperous and more diverse in its application. Safety as physical settings and safety as environmental settings, especially within the educational spaces and in lecture halls, are among spaces where a more significant number of students attend at a time. Physical safety is noise, lighting levels, fire, and temperature. The environmental protection marked through several conditions: Acoustic, Lighting settings, and the Psychology Effects of the interior elements. Once safety is achieved the educational process and progress itself reaches its best terms.
Paper Problem:
Education is the main character of today’s development. Educational spaces should be the most important spaces as it embraces the growth of tomorrow’s leaders in all life’s struggles. Educators and students need to feel safe in enabling them, focusing on their learning progress. The safety of these educational spaces, because they are interior, is the responsibility of the interior designer. Safety from noise, an inappropriate level of light, heat or cold, combustible materials are features of their physical safety surroundings. The environmental design that includes; bad interior acoustics, lighting scenes, the psychological effects of the design message, the color selection, and the pattern ranges, all contribute to the overall design of the educational space that is required to provide positive feelings to the users thereby maximizing their learning experience.
Paper Goal:
The main guidelines to follow when designing such spaces need to be set, for the interior designer, and this is the main paper goal; to reach these design guidelines. These guidelines base themselves on the two main characteristics of safety: Physical and Psychological protections. These guidelines should be the main strategies to follow when designing lecture halls, as interior design guidelines. Physical safety is the human dimensions, and temperature comfort within the space, the proper level of light to execute the tasks, the appropriate sound level for the physical health of the users. Psychological safety includes all the elements affecting the human feelings, behavior, and perceptual acceptance; interior design message and all related design components that effect on the overall perception of the students in the interior of the lecture halls.
Paper Methodology:
The paper shall follow the qualitative methodology in research, as the main guidelines to reach. Literature feedback, standards of design, and the case studies to analyze are the essential data to reach the target design guidelines for the interior design of the lectures halls. Among the references and the researches done in this field, the feedback of data will help to create a strong database for the topic. Analyzing the cases study will emphasis the strong and weak points to consider in the final layout of the design guidelines all along with the standards of the lectures hall’ design. Keywords:
