Abstract:
In the past, the number of specializations never steps the dozen in itemize. Development of all kind of sciences, increasing of curriculums, expansion of discovered fields, these results increasing the complexity of disciplines to several divisions. Nowadays, as results, the focuses on the specific necessities became a must for any science – the variety of Noble Prices in different knowledge – as real example. One of the most important development methodologies, in any curriculum, is the introduction of new professional informative courses and topics. The basic information is in increasing integrations and interlinks between specializations, in particular, the co-specialization of interior design and architectural design. However there are a number of topics that should be focused, as points of interest, in each particular specialization; the main aims of this, is to reach the learning outcomes that follows the great amount of information in each topic and field. The interdisciplinary respect in any team work is the base to reach success; professional can’t be replaced by others, due to the need of expert in each field.
Lighting Design – the paper example – is an essential course in both programs; the Interior Design and the Architectural Design, is one example of such topic. Before it could be taught as similar topic for both programs, as the information were quiet enough. But at present condition, the quantity of profound informatics knowledge, and the need of many subtitles in each field, the matter of dividing their syllabus became a must. Lighting Design for interior Design program has a necessity to focus on different aspects and topics than for architectural design program. The interior design student need the basic information of natural and sustainable lighting design, so he/she could contribute in solving and deciding the opening based on the function and users needs; the interior design project program in all international institutions study these needs first then the architectural design project program apply its specific requirements. Moreover, the needs to study the types of lighting fixtures to suit the interior elements as function and concept of design, the needs of study the level of light need for each function based on the furniture arrangements and the interior treatment color schemes, the relation and affection of light on the color appearance, the standards data related to each specific interior functions, and for sure the types of lighting control to costume each user, all are vital topics needs thoughtful focus for the interior design students. While for the architectural design students, the important elements will start of sure with the natural and sustainable lighting design but with different aspects related moreover on the site, the buildings technologies, and the urban orientation. Then they will need to reflective core information of the lighting design for the building facades, the historical sites, the parking areas, the outdoors facilities, the complex building amenities, to success the target of those functions.
From the precedents facts, this paper should reach a specific detailed syllabus, in the lighting design course, for each program; the interior design program and the architectural design program, in order to graduates professional ready with all developed science.
