Abstract:
Due to the pandemic people around the world have been experiencing changes in their daily routines, education is included. This study was held in Guayaquil, Ecuador where the health crisis caused that universities moved face-to-face courses online. Therefore, an unforeseen preparation and transition took place so that scientific and technological progress slowed down in a certain extent. On the other hand, this new modality forced the educational community to innovate and to start using complementary digital resources. Consequently, the way to disseminate science also became dynamic and interactive.

This research aims to identify the influence of online education in the scientific dissemination through streaming media with undergraduate students of an Ecuadorian public university. It explains the changes that were made to implement streaming based on the use of digital resources in order to inform about the scientific products of students and professors. Facebook was allowed to broadcast live the virtual open house of the Computer Science degree program where these products were exhibited. Important results were obtained and they will be used to analyze the impact of the scientific dissemination through virtual resources during COVID-19.
