FACEBOOK AS A VIRTUAL LEARNING CLASSROOM – THE TEACHER´S CHALLENGE

Abstract:
Within the framework of new technologies, should be established a more truthful communication between teachers and students, it is necessary to analyze how we can reach young people in such a way that we communicate with them in the same way. Virtual classrooms have allowed to improve and establish parameters for an interesting symbiosis that has effectively allowed to manage the interaction in the classroom. Now with the incursion of social networks 2.0 as part of the daily life of each adolescent we can answer a question Why not link them?, being Facebook the social network of greater use nowadays, our study was carried out suggesting the application of a virtual classroom prototype composed by a closed group of 82 students from the Computer Science degree at the University of Guayaquil in Ecuador for a specific subject, and the use of a conventional virtual classroom in another. From the analysis of multiple works on the subject, substantial elements were found that will make a series of recommendations for teachers interested in linking the use of Facebook in their educational practice.Keywords:
