Abstract:
In higher medical education, one of the crucial tasks is to shape the value orientation of graduates from medical universities. Contemporary society emphasises the importance of an individual, and it necessitates timely investigation of the value orientations of students majoring in medicine, which forms the basis of their ethical and deontological culture. Axiology, as a framework for values, serves as a methodological foundation for cultivating the value-semantic stance of medical students. The exploration of value orientations during medical education is significant, not only in Russia but globally. In 2022-2023, a research investigation addressing this topic was carried out at the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology in Kazan Federal University.

Based on the above, the aim of the research is to investigate the value orientations hierarchy of medical students who have completed the educational program at Kazan Federal University, using objective methods and language.

The study involved 263 medical students with the permission of the Directorate of the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology. Over a six-month-long period, we conducted the study by preparing questionnaires, testing participants, and analyzing data collected. The course, "Ethics and Deontology in Medicine and Biology," provided the empirical foundation for the research. We applied the following methods in our study. "Value Orientations" by M. Rokich; "Objectives and Values of a Doctor's Practice". The participant provided written consent to participate in the testing using the designated methodology. The acquired results were analysed via factor analysis using the principal components method with Varimax rotation.

The study employed the method of pedagogical experiment, along with observation, generalization and system analysis. The experimental work was executed on 2nd-year medical students in specializations including "Medical Business" (31.05.01), "Dentistry" (31.05.03) and "Medical Biochemistry" (30.05.01) at the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology, Kazan Federal University.
