Abstract:
The primary mission of any educational institution is to educate. The vehicle with which we deliver instructions plays a great role in the extent to which learning takes place. Finding the best method or way to deliver instructions becomes a must. Every student is different; this means that we have to provide a way of delivering information and instructions that will serve each student’s individual needs. With wide use and availability of technology made, it is possible to address the needs of individual students through augmented reality. Materials that we use to teach and the methodology of delivering instructions to students have a big impact in students’ learning. Books are becoming the technology of yesterday and computers are becoming the technology of the future. To this end, we are proposing in this application to design a tool that utilizes augmented reality to teach science in class rooms. The tool will help teachers to teach science to primary students through educational games. Augmented reality will help to move students’ from a static book reality to an ‘Animated interactive virtual reality’. This will revolutionize the way we teach science in schools.
