Abstract:
The use of new and non-traditional elements in the context of school education is an integral part of didactics in schools. The question of motivation in classrooms still remains current, but the natural development of didactics and methodology in schools with regard to more advanced forms of teaching, the use of modern technologies and scientific knowledge, constantly stretch the boundaries of possibilities and increase the efficiency of teachers' work.
The article deals with the application of innovative elements within the framework of high jump teaching methodology during school physical training lessons. It is intended for primary and secondary school teachers involved in sports, as well as for athletic trainers. The article includes a simple analysis and description of high jump technique, the influence of motor skills, motivation, and anthropometric assumptions for this sports event. It also describes methodological and organizational rules of the teaching unit in school physical education, but all with regard to the developmental period of adolescents, and the problems which this age raises. In its practical part, the authors present a set of preparatory exercises for a high jump, with the use of non-traditional elements of teaching, special warm-up techniques, compensatory exercises, and, in conclusion, safety risks during the teaching unit cannot be ruled out too.
