Abstract:
Nowadays, the use of interactive didactic resources is one of the main means used in the world for learning mathematics at all educational levels. The goal is for students to explore, manipulate and experiment by themselves, in order to obtain a better learning process. In this sense, and with the objective of develop interactive tools, professors of Engineering Faculty of the UNAM, we have begun to develop and implement material, notes and interactive practices for solving mathematical problems such as: getting roots, solving systems of equations, as well as solution of differential equations, among others. The idea is to use free software, such as Python, LaTeX, Jupyter Notebook and Google Colab, to generate interactive material. This will enable students to learn to analyze and solve mathematical problems in a very simple way, and most importantly, they will be able to apply each of these concepts in real life, when they are solving engineering problems. The methodology consists in providing interactive notes for each mathematics subject offered at the School of Engineering, where the students will be able to complement the concepts presented in the classroom with this material. Taking into account that there are many subjects imparted in an engineering career, the present work is focused on presenting the interactive material related to the subject of numerical analysis.
