Abstract:
Today, teachers are increasing the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the classroom in order to improve the teaching-learning conditions, develop the skills of students and facilitate the assimilation of knowledge. In fact, digital tools, web applications and educational software allow the construction of new virtual spaces that improve the interaction and communication between the participants of the educational process. For example, the Collaborative wall is a web application that allows the realization of various collaborative activities in the classroom such as the exchange of ideas in the classroom and debate among the participants during the educational process through the use of information and images on the network. Technological and pedagogical models play a fundamental role during the organization and implementation of the school activities in the 21st century. In particular, the “Innovation in Teaching” course promotes the incorporation of ICT in the educational field considering the pedagogical aspects. In module 3, teachers organize and carry out new activities in the classroom through the Collaborative wall. The students and teacher enter the Collaborative wall through mobile devices in order to share a work area on the web. The teacher uses the projector in the classroom to display the information (text and images) that the students upload on the Collaborative wall. The objective of this quantitative research is to analyze the impact of the Collaborative wall in the educational process on the social sciences. The Collaborative wall is a web application that promotes the exchange of ideas in the classroom and the debate among the participants during the educational process. The sample is made up of 42 students who attended the intermediate level of education at a high school located in Mexico City during the 2019 school year. The professor of the subject “Introduction to the Study of Social and Economic Sciences” asks various questions in the class in order to exchange and discuss the ideas uploaded in the Collaborative wall. The results of the linear regression indicate that the participation in the Collaborative wall positively influences the educational process on the social sciences through the organization, comparison and dissemination of ideas in the classroom. In conclusion, advances in technology such as the Collaborative wall and pedagogical models are transforming the planning and implementation of courses at the high school level through the construction of new educational virtual spaces. Keywords:
