Abstract:
Advances in technology allow educational institutions and teachers plan, organize and implement new strategies to promote the learning. In particular, Web 2.0 tools like Podcast and Dropbox offer innovative ways to present and distribute the contents of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC). In particular, this research analyzes the use of Podcast and Dropbox in a MOOC related to building web systems, which is used as a complementary resource of the classroom course “Business application development”. The sample consists of 28 students in the sixth semester of the career of computer systems at a university in Mexico City. The use of the Podcast allows transmit the content via voice and Dropbox facilities download files and virtual machines. Also this research analyzes the effect of the Web 2.0 tools used in the MOOC during the 2016-1 school year. Finally, it is valuable to use new technological tools like Podcast and Dropbox during the educational process in order to develop meaningful learning.
