Abstract:
In the framework of the Innovation and Teaching Improvement Projects supported by the Universitat Politècnica de València, a questionnaire has been carried out with the aim of pointing out the autonomous learning strategies held by the students of the Building Engineering Bachelor Degree, which was fully implemented in the year 2010/2011.
A quite wide range of courses (seven) has been analyzed, which belong to different knowledge areas, such as physics, drawing and construction, and to different semesters, and also with different ECTS points.
The questionnaire includes multiple choice questions and covers the six horizons that have been considered more relevant in order to check the autonomous working strategies carried by the students: widening, collaboration, planning, preparation of exams, participation and conceptualization. Its format has allowed us a fast starting of the survey and the evaluation of the collected data. The students were also allowed to add personal comments that have been also analyzed.
The number of completed questionnaires has been significant enough, because 629 answers (of 2623 students) have been obtained. This fact has allowed an analysis with a very high reliability level which has lead us to relevant conclusions that will be very useful for the planning and tuning of the suggested tasks to students during the next academic year. Keywords:
