Abstract:
IdM@ti network has been created with the aim of improving efficiency of underway and future collaborations, and all members concurred in the diagnosis of the difficulties and opportunities arising from Bologna process implementation and teaching methodologies improvement in Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) teaching.

The main objectives of IdM@ti network are related to MSE resources sharing (course programs, exercises, lab scripts, projects, PBL and case studies, etc.).

The network will allow classifying those educational resources already individually implemented by each University, monitoring their statewide and promote the creation of new resources.

Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) contents are related to subjects in Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering. However, relationship between MS&T subjects contents and Social Commitment is not always evident.

As an example of IdM@ti activity, a service-learning proposal has been designed in order to apply the contents of the subjects of MS&T and other technical topics in several engineering degrees, on society service. In this work, design of elements for disabled persons has been considered.

In this experience, we propose that students from different universities work together in different disciplines with a common goal: implementation of the content and skills of materials engineering society.

Several skills as teamwork, collaborative learning, PBL, are applyed in order to develop a real element.
