Abstract:
Practical study is considered a backbone of qualification in engineering and sciences education. It helps to understand the theoretical concepts for university students. Over the last decades, limitation of available laboratories has become one of the encumbrances to several universities and institutions owing to the cost and unavailability of instructors. It led to declining the students' qualifications in experimentation in engineering and sciences fields.

Several studies have been compared between Hands-on laboratories and online laboratories. The recent study [1] mentioned that in the case of hands-on laboratories the students can have much information by working with real equipment, but with the limitation of times. While, it referred to use the online laboratories which are also referred to "Remote and Virtual laboratories", in the curriculum can help students to improve their skills, especially they are available 24/7. It can be said, remote and virtual laboratories can support the hands-on laboratories to overcome restricts that are included it. In result, online laboratories have been proven they can assist the hands-on laboratories by serving the secondary and higher education students. Moreover, it may become the best technology to support hands-on ones in coming days, regarding to its low cost and ubiquity.

Nowadays, several online laboratories have been implemented to get over the limitations of hands-on laboratories, for instance Virtual Instrument Systems in Reality (VISIR). This system has been serving thousands of students worldwide and from different countries.
This paper presents the number of students who are involved to use VISIR node that are located at ISEP, BTH, UNED, and Deusto institutions from beginning of installation until the May of 2015. It is categorized the students access monthly and yearly from each VISIR node. Additionally, the paper recommends using the online laboratories federation around the VISIR system.
