Abstract:
Working with lexical material in a foreign language class, students often report difficulties associated with memorizing large volumes of vocabulary. Often, a long search for individual ways to best vocabulary memorizing takes a lot of time and does not bring the desired results. This article examines the Russian and foreign practice of using methods that promote memorization and assimilation of new vocabulary. The article provides a classification of classical and modern approaches to memorizing new vocabulary based on types of perception.

The authors reckon that the manifestation of an emotional response and the development of a personal attitude to the studied material plays an important role and can contribute to a better assimilation of foreign language vocabulary and to its fastest memorization. It may depend on the prevailing channel of perception. Each type of perception determines the form of presentation and structure of the material, as well as priority approaches and ways of memorizing it. The use of specialized applications and online services allows you to reduce time costs, increase the visibility of the presentation of lexical units, and offer training tasks.
The article is intended for universities teachers, undergraduate and postgraduate students and students of foreign languages.
