Abstract:
Modern technologies not only dramatically changed global communication but also had a profound effect on all aspects of language use. In fact, the rapid growth of the Internet makes widespread computer-based instruction a reality (Li & Hart, 2002).Therefore; the use of technologies in English language classroom is increasingly developing, such as the World Wide Web, to facilitate the process of teaching & learning.
This study attempts to find out ESP students’ attitudes towards ICT and is mainly concerned with evaluating selected ESP web sites in ESP learning and factors contributing to learner autonomy.
In doing so, data were collected through a questionnaire. The questionnaire was administered to 60 female students majoring in nursing and midwifery at Islamic Azad University. Results showed that most students hold an overall positive view towards using Web sites in their ESP learning, and also confirmed the usefulness of ICT in the ESP classroom and development of learner autonomy. Keywords:
