Abstract:
The Training Model of the University of Informatics Sciences (ISU) is based on the scientific and dialectical materialist world conception, showing a strong influence of the Historical and Cultural Approach of LS. Vygotsky (1896-1934). The system of theories associated with these fundamentals is in the interests of the Cuban society. It is governed by teaching laws and has its epistemological basis on the social construction of knowledge. These theoretical assumptions are accompanied by the need to exploit the advantages offered by the use of Information Technologies and Communications (ICT). Furthermore, is emphasized the imminent development of a teaching aimed to the student’s self-preparation. The use of technology does not always ensure a meaningful learning; however, with its use and the appropriate didactic guide of the professor, students can recognize, share and refine their personal learning spaces, improve their social relations and conduct an analytical learning. To support the student’s self-preparation, teachers need to exploit the advantages that each of these technological advances offer; especially, the principle of flexibility and customization of learning through an interactive and constant communication. In this regard the use of platforms as technological means for managing content and learning management has been a step forwards for Higher Education Institutions. In turn, in the software development industry, the skill "implementing algorithms" is essential for software developers as well as for designers and database managers. At the University of Informatics Sciences, an analysis of the monthly reports issued by the Central Methodological Department allows to identify problems associated with instructional design of teaching tasks aimed at developing the aforementioned skill. The didactic design of teaching tasks oriented to the student´s self-preparation does not consider appropriate objectives for an effective development of this skill. The potentials that offer the use of Information Technology and Communications has not been properly exploited, neither an adequate feedback is provided. The didactic treatment of teaching tasks in a Virtual Environment to support the student’s self-preparation requires get insight into the rationale supporting the appropriate use of technological means in the Teaching Learning Process. The principles and features that should characterize the instructional design of teaching tasks in a Virtual Environment to support student’s self-preparation are presented in this article as partial results of a scientific research. Keywords:
