Abstract:
The multisensory stimulation Snoezelen method has undergone many changes in recent years. In the Czech Republic, this alternative form of education is becoming a widely used method in the care of persons with multiple disabilities. The aim of the paper is to present a qualitative research survey. The core methods used in the research survey were the case study and direct observation. The result of this qualitative research is an individual plan for the Snoezelen method for three pupils with multiple disabilities in a special elementary and nursery school in Kroměříž in the Czech Republic. We primarily focused on the observation of the effects of the Snoezelen method on overall calming down and the development of communication skills in selected pupils. The paper also presents the long-term and partial objectives of room sessions with individual pupils with regard to their individual needs and wishes.
