Abstract:
The search for new methods and approaches for distance learning of students majoring in Power Engineering and Electrical Equipment is a priority of a large part of the teaching staff performing the training.

Practical training is one of the most important elements for providing quality education. For this purpose, methods and tools should be used in distance learning, which should provide students with conditions close to the real ones in practice. This can be achieved by using software products for remote control of elements of the power supply system.

The article discusses the application of software for remote control of circuit breakers Micrologic_RSU_Compact NSX of the company Schneider Electric, which are widely used in power distribution networks in Bulgaria. From a methodological point of view, it is necessary for students to get acquainted with the features of Compact NSX circuit breakers, to establish a communication connection with the physical device, to make the circuit breaker settings and to visualize the set time characteristic.

The described approach can be used with other devices that are widely used in low voltage power distribution networks, which creates a good basis for the practical work of students and develops their digital skills.
