Abstract:
The urgency of facing the multiple crises experienced by humanity has implied universities to move forward in search of greater pertinence. Hence, researchers pay special attention to the University-Industry Collaboration (UIC), as well as their interactions with governments, civil society, and the environment based on triple, quadruple, and quintuple helix models, as well as the knowledge management approach. In this context, although the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) have gained space in the international debate, few works in the consulted literature address this sector from the aforementioned perspectives.

In the case of Cuba, the last two decades have led to the transformation of the socioeconomic model on the road to sustainable development. To this end, Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) are called upon to play a decisive role in confronting existing problems, fundamentally from the application of science and innovation. The University of the Arts (ISA), for example, should contribute to the preservation of heritage and the development of cultural industries.

This paper explores the relationship between the Faculty of Music of the University of the Arts (ISA) and the National Museum of Music in Cuba, as a case study, based on the qualitative analysis of interviews, as well as official and auxiliary sources. The paper tackles a remaining gap in this field of research and provides important elements to decision-makers, academics, and other stakeholders.
