Abstract:
The use of new information and communication technologies (NTIC) enables to introduce new teaching methodologies and makes possible that more people can achieve their educational goals. Learning tools for personal computer, such as Moodle, wiki, etc, where there is an interrelationship among teacher-subject-student are usual nowadays.
These virtual environments promote the students take responsibility for their own work under the guidance of the teacher. In recent years, tablets and mobile devices invite to develop new teaching methodologies. In this paper a new methodology for teaching statistics is shown through the development of applications for a tablet. The programmed applications enable to learn the theoretical and practical aspects of descriptive statistics. The theory and proposed exercises are presented in an interactive form through auto-readable files. Using mobile apps allows us to work in a hybrid way, that is, both online and offline. This methodology allows people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) the learning of the statistics, through tools such as audio, subtitles, and the own-supplied mobile devices. Keywords:
