Abstract:
The aim of this communication is to describe the experience of implementing a blog related to current economic news in the subject of Introduction to Economics, in the first year of the Law Degree at the University of Almeria. The teaching group justifies this innovation project with the need to reactivate the interest and motivation of the students that leads to an improvement in learning.
This subject of Introduction to Economics deals with the study of the key problems in economics; microeconomics (supply and demand, with special emphasis on the company); and macroeconomics (focused on explaining how the economic system works as a whole, the macro magnitudes, what are the main objectives and instruments of economic policy). However, if the development and study of this subject is not done with continuous references to the economic reality that surrounds us, it is possible that the students consider this subject as something abstract and complex, discouraging the study of it. This disadvantage is accentuated when dealing with students with interests closer to the legal sciences than to economic science, such as the students of the Law Degree. The versatility of this teaching innovation methodology allows the positive results obtained in this teaching experience to be extrapolated to other similar subjects offered in the Degree of Labor Relations and Human Resources and in the Degree of Management and Public Administration. Keywords:
