Abstract:
Use of mobile devices (smartphones, tablets), modern AR (augmented reality) technology and supporting media files is the future of professional trainings. ARFAT - The Augmented Reality Formwork Assembly Training is a pioneer endeavour that aims to include all these elements in construction industry. The project address health and safety (H&S) issues on construction sites. Especially works at heights, which are one of the most dangerous among construction works (often resulting in fatal accidents).

The objective of ARFAT was to develop up-to-date, tailor-suited to sectorial needs, modern formworks and scaffolding-works training, appropriate to be integrated into existing VET offerings or to serve the community as a stand-alone training. The project focuses on modern skills needs of construction engineers, construction workers, stakeholders and associations in the construction sector, SMEs and companies (construction sector), VET providers, and technical universities, delivering a solid, reliable and comprehensive pedagogical tool.

In the ARFAT project, training system was created together with paper manual, application for mobile devices and supporting media files. Training will soon be open for all interested parties, it will use innovative methods that suit in the best way modern, digital era.

The article focuses on the feedback on the training received by its first users.
