Abstract:
A field trip to "la Central de Abastos" (the greatest provision center in Latin America) in Mexico City is used to show to students the biodiversity of the country, mainly in consumable plants and vegetables. With this activity they will identify the mechanisms that have favor the diversification of living systems through the analysis of the theories that explain their origin and evolution, therefore they will comprehend the biodiversity as an evolutive process. During the visit, they will apply different abilities and attitudes during the bibliographical and experimental research. They will found, identify and classify the different products that are able to find in the central de abastos. They will use their oral and writing abilities to communicate their learning. Different material will be used: photos, drawings, notepad. They receive and instruction panel that will be resolved in three different stages: befor, during and after the visit. They will select a specific group to work on, flowers, fruits, vegetables, peppers, grains and seeds.
