Abstract:
The author of this communication is a professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and Construction at the Polytechnic School of Cuenca, teaching the subject "Building IV", formerly known as "Construction Technology", mandatory subject, found within the syllabus of the new Bachelor Degree in Building Engineering.
The said subject is a key tool for the professional development of a Building Engineer. Hence the great importance of acquiring knowledge and understanding rooted from the technical thought emanating from the illustrated reasoning. "Construction Course IV" is approached from the perspective that students acquire basic skills for the effective exercise of their profession. Also the teacher must have experience and knowledge needed to create a learning environment as close to actual field work as possible. This requires that the alumni takes beforehand some subjects that will give the knowledge over the terminology of the essential elements and systems of any building, knowledge of materials and the temporal organization of the building site.
From the above we design a teaching space where the working methodology is divided into modules allowing different professionals with their competences to participate, creating an up-to date and dynamic work environment, which demands from both the instructor and the instructed. In our presentation we will explain how to develop the teaching space, and discuss its implementation. Keywords:
