THEORETICAL-PRACTICAL APPROACH TO SELF-LEARNING SPANISH LANGUAGE AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE THROUGH MOBILE DEVICES APPLICATIONS

Abstract: The society is constantly changing and the way of learning has changed too. Due to this fact, we need new ways to get closer the learning for the students. For this reason, the study of languages has been developed through web pages and nowadays it is being carried out through the use of mobile devices such as tablets or mobiles. More and more, mobile resources are appearing to contribute the (self) language learning. However, we realize that it is necessary to sustain these resources through research with a double aspect. On the one hand, it must be endowed with a theoretical framework that supports it; on the other hand, an analysis of the practice in which the self-learning of Spanish is concretized through the MALL (Mobile Assisted Language Learning). We observe that it is necessary to make a theoretical and practical overview of the self-learning of Spanish, through the MALL (Mobile Assisted Language Learning), related to his mother’s discipline CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning). In this essay, we are going to present and analyze, based on the precepts of these disciplines (chiefly by the MALL), the main existing resources of self-learning Spanish as a foreign language through mobile devices.
In this essay, we will present some conclusions only applicable to learning Spanish as a foreign language; although we will see how many of the mobile implementations are complements of the web applications, which are necessary for students. Being unavoidably to attend the economy of time and the need to learn languages at any time and place.
