Abstract:

The Project “Investigate! Save the Planet!”, coordinated by the IIAMA-UPV, has had the collaboration of the “Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología, Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación”. The Final Days were held in June with the presentation of projects. In this Project, 15 educational centers of Secondary Education, Bachelor, and Vocational Training of the Valencian Community, have carried out their own research project related to the Sustainable Development Goals and the effects of climate change on ecosystems, being tutored by IIAMA researchers.

Students have acquired knowledge related to scientific methodology. They have become aware of the problems and challenges facing the planet and humanity. They have increased their scientific culture, disseminated their research results, actively participated in science dissemination efforts and developed the capacity for analysis and critical opinion. In such a complicated healthcare context, it is comforting to see the satisfaction of the tutors of the centers and of the students. The next generations will be in charge of facing global challenges and awareness is one of the fundamental tools to recognize that the current situation is not satisfactory.
