Abstract:
The business game INTOP is an specially valuable teaching method because put the students into touch with the real business world, where, as is common knowledge, it is almost impossible examine the consequences of implemented policies. Thanks to this real-world economic simulator, students can make decisions and observe their outcomes, and, appraise its effectiveness. Therefore, students will come to appreciate the real circumstances that they will encounter in their future business career, being very beneficial for their training.
So this tool develops most of the skills that students need to become effective executives: goal-setting, information-gathering and decision-making and responsibility-taking skills. Hence, the INTOP offer a magnificent chance for teamwork, improving social relationships among players and developing their communication skills and personal enrichment by considering other people’s viewpoints, making them better prepared for what will be their routine work method in the future.
This study demonstrates with the application of the factor analysis technique which factors influence the effectiveness of the INTOP as a student training method.
