Abstract:
Recently, the Spanish Government has made a huge effort to implement the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in schools of compulsory education, especially in Secondary Education. The program, funded by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, includes the provision of notebooks that are incorporated into the students' school bag accompanying them in the classroom and at home, and equipping of digital classrooms in schools that allow the use of materials and network Internet connection. Students’ notebook is equipped with free software. It becomes a tool for teaching and learning that goes beyond the classroom, linking students, teachers and families and providing the students a better preparation for university studies and adult life. At present the teaching staff is working on effective learning environments and on a list of additional activities to promote students’ active and autonomous learning supported with the use of ICT.
This paper presents some math activities that can be developed in the classroom using the computer resources currently available and that have been proved successful during several school years. We also present a programming of contents of a course and describe an evaluation system which uses interactive forms and sends replies automatically in real time. Keywords:
