Abstract:
The emergence of AI has been a turning point in many aspects of society. One of them has been education. Although Artificial Intelligence is increasingly having a greater impact on our daily lives, there is still a long way to go for its effective implementation in teaching practice (Padilla RDM, 2019). Among the countless set of tasks that a teacher has to perform, is the design and updating of teaching materials that favor the teaching-learning processes of students. This teaching material must be adapted to the characteristics and knowledge of the students and encourage their motivation towards the subject. The problem is that the bureaucratic burden on teachers has been increasing in recent years, causing the time in their day dedicated to the creation and improvement of teaching material to be considerably reduced. In fact, being a teacher is one of the most stressful professions (Saloviita, T., & Pakarinen, E., 2021). Teachers must prepare classes, correct exams, carry out tutorials, guide in the preparation of assignments, etc. Because of this, compared to other professions, teachers are more likely to suffer “burnout” (Lee, S., Tsang, A., & Kwok, K., 2007). In this context, AI can play a very relevant role, since it allows us to generate material with a high level of quality in a short period of time and also allows us to adapt the learning experience to the individual needs of the students (Duque- Méndez, 2007). The majority of university professors provide students with slides they created themselves and recommended bibliography as teaching material. If notes in text format related to the slides are added to these teaching resources, student learning can be reinforced. The objective of the work is the development of teaching material using the AI tool Chat2course for a subject of the degree in mechanical engineering. Specifically, for the subject of Fundamentals of Theory of Machines and Mechanisms. This Artificial Intelligence tool allows us to create teaching material based on the definition of learning objectives and the characteristics of the students to whom the material is directed. The work includes the following: importance of creating teaching material in mechanical engineering, explanation of how the Chat2course tool works, presentation of the steps to follow to generate teaching material with Chat2course, from the selection of topics and structuring the content to the definition characteristics of the students, specific examples of material generated with the tool, analysis of the results obtained and comparison with the initial objectives of the work, reflection on the ethical considerations of using Chat2course to generate teaching material.

The objectives of the work can be specified in the following way:
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the Chat2Course tool in the creation of mechanical engineering teaching materials.
- Explore the adaptability of the teaching material generated with Chat2Course to different levels of knowledge and learning styles of students.
- Identify the advantages and limitations of using AI in the creation of teaching materials for teaching mechanical engineering.
- Provide recommendations for the effective implementation of Chat2Course in the creation of teaching materials for the Mechanical Engineering degree.
