Abstract:
This work is results of self-critical analysis carried out by the current university administration, where the attention and service processes for the students of the University of Guanajuato (UGTO) were reviewed, with some important findings such as excessive bureaucracy administrative and traditional validation process of documents through the delivery of paper vouchers, carrying out these activities in an unsustainable way in different processes such as the new entry, the inscriptions, the request for services such as issuance of certificates, diplomas, titles, among others.

These findings driven to redesign the administrative processes to make them efficient, and to eliminate non value-added activities. This work was supported with the institutional system of administrative academic information (SIIAA), which was redesign adapting the existing modules and reconditioned others, in order to provide technological support for changes in processes and policy that emerged to offer services to the students in an efficient and effective way.

The objective was to develop a modern and flexible SIIAA capable to provide integration of medullar indicators (of mobility, entrepreneurship, complimentary activities, etc.), to improve process to serve students, for good development of the academic mission, looking to integrate activities of the full time professors (PTC), in subjects such national e international mobility, innovation, among others.

The methodology used was the review of the state of the art in specialized journals to set the basis theory. Also, several grupal discussion sessions were done to establish strategies and activities with the people responsible to warranty the set objective. In addition, systems of other Mexican universities were reviewed to made a benchmarking and to collect the best practices to establish the development of the SIIAA to the UGTO.

Results shows satisfaction levels of the students that validate the redesign and functionality of the developed system. These findings are important for the planning activities and actions of improve in the processes to serve students at the UGTO.
