Abstract:
Today in Mexico, there are more than 4.1 million SMEs that generate around 72% of employment in the country, in addition to 52% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Undoubtedly, the Mexican homeland has a large number of small and medium-sized companies that generate income and support for Mexican families and perhaps some foreign ones. But do these companies really generate a great utility to the country in terms of knowledge and innovation? The truth is that no, very few of them are really dedicated to scale and be larger and more established companies, the stagnation of SMEs is due to a large number of factors but some of the most important and which we will focus on speaking in This work is about research and innovation in new products, processes, procedures or services, the way in which they create and manage their knowledge and the way in which they market in their market.

SMEs have a great treasure, an invaluable asset that in many of the cases they will not be able to visualize, this precious value is the knowledge generated through the years of experience and operation of the company. These organizations carry out an empirical and undocumented investigation, this research in turn generates new ways of doing things, hence the success of many companies, but as the most valuable result of this action, they obtain knowledge that in the future will provide them with another solution. practice the problems that may arise during the life of the company.

But, how is it possible that something so valuable is not distinguished and exploited by these organizations? The answer can include a host of factors and facts but if we talk about the essential the answer would be that small entrepreneurs have a lack of culture, vision and notion of the importance of knowledge management in their organizations. But how to approach these entrepreneurs to a broader vision of profitability and future growth for their company when the essential and paramount for them is to survive day by day since in many cases these companies do not have a long term economic fluidity but short , what forces the businessmen to stop the accounts and not to think about investment for their growth, simply does not reach them. Added to this many of the owners of these companies do not have adequate academic training so they conduct their operations spontaneously.

This leads us to weigh who can help and focus on the path of innovation and development to these entrepreneurs, so that they have the necessary training and support to change their vision to the growth of their organization. It is here that the government, public universities, research centers and large industries must enter to support the economic development of the country, all together must work as a great team in collaboration with SMEs in order to grow together in the development and creation of a new economy.

The present work shows a proposal of a conceptual model for an innovation ecosystem that bases its operation in a postgraduate oriented to the industry, this postgraduate presents a flexibility to be able to attract engineers and professionals who are employed in the productive companies interested in training your personal; but it is not closed to other professionals who are not employees of the companies, but who are integrated into technological development projects focused on providing solutions to problems in companies.
