Abstract:
Feminism is a social, political, cultural, economic, and academic movement that seeks equality between the sexes and to improve the personal position of women in society, understanding "society" as borderline, educational, and professional.
Teaching topics related to feminism in educational institutions is vital to provide information and tools to eliminate discrimination both in the academic field and in the work context.
For years women have achieved more representation in their leadership roles, however, there is still a long way to go. According to Mckinsey's "Women in the Workplace 2022" report, out of every 100 men who are promoted in their workplace to top-level managers, only 87 women earned that same promotion.
The term Bootcamp was used in the military world since 1898 to name the training camp where recruits were prepared physically, mentally, and emotionally; providing basic tools necessary to carry out the functions assigned to them.
In the educational field, the "Bootcamp" methodology refers to practical and intensive teaching in which specific topics and real cases are introduced, providing students with application tools in their personal and professional lives.
This document presents the research results of educational innovation experimentation "Bootcamp "Leadership for women": a challenging, motivating and creative experience that will allow students to develop inclusive leadership”. For the development of this research, experimental research designs were used.
The objective was to determine to what extent the "Bootcamp" educational methodology provides knowledge and useful tools so that women can exercise their leadership and achieve representation in the workplace.
The implementation was carried out in the "Bootcamp, leadership for Women" course from the period August-December 2020 to the period February-June 2023. The experiment was designed to deliver creative content for students related to:
• Identify different elements present in the evolution of women's leadership and its influence on current conditions.
• Build productive conversations by identifying mental models, barriers to change, and emotional intelligence.
• Apply self-diagnostic tools; influence and negotiation to strengthen their leadership potential.
• Design a self-development plan to strengthen their leadership potential.
• Carry out an analysis between your personal life and your professional plans.
As a result of the research, it was found that the course "Leadership Bootcamp for Women" helped students transform their perspective of themselves and the way of implementing inclusive leadership to reduce the gender gap.
