Abstract:
The present study sought to determine the coefficient of correlation between the academic stress and the anxiety, as trait and state, in students of psychology of first to sixth semester of the University Manuela Beltrán. It turned out essential to identify the situations where the students experienced more academic stress and this way, to relate it to the development of anxiety. It works from the quantitative not experimental model of investigation, realizing the application of psychological tests as the inventory SISCO of the academic stress, the inventory of anxiety feature - condition (IDARE) and the inventory of Beck's anxiety. The participants were from psychology which range of age are between 18 to 25 years old. Initially, for the selection of the participants, a sampling was realized not probabilistic. In the results the moderate significance of the correlation is outlined between academic stress and anxiety state (with a value of 0.616). The results shows the correlation of the inventory SISCO and trait anxiety, as well as the symptomatic category of the SISCO and Beck's inventory the level is lower than the previous one. We found that the difference between anxiety determined condition and feature, indicating that the anxiety trait and state, is a situational transitory reaction, which as feature, includes relatively permanent characteristics of personality, like the frequent evaluation of future situations that turn in threatening, and the frequent trend to answer to the contextual situations with anxiety state.
