Abstract:
In the context of Bologna process teachers stop being the main resource of knowledge and transmission of information in the area of higher education in order to become a guider of self-learning for students. This scenario implies to design and define different strategies for teachers to face with new challenges. In this study a new methodology called Meeting Point is presented in which teachers play an important role in the future adaptation of European Space for Higher Education. Teachers are motivated to use continuous improvement processes in teaching methodologies with the emphasis on pedagogical innovations. It is a strategy to be defined as a new way of working among teachers and addressed to students. This methodology is based in three keypoints: the learning of students, the teaching process and the learning of teachers. Flexibility and adaptability are two characteristics of the essence of this methodology consisting in the gradual introduction of changes and innovations in the traditional teaching model of a group of teachers who have harmonised the performance of common activities. Different courses belonging to Business Administration Degree have been selected with the guarantee of an interdisciplinary point of view. This pilot study aims to demonstrate that the learning of different courses is not restricted by the didactic methodologies or evaluation systems used if teachers are open-minded within the framework of Bologne Accord. The teachers who are interested in their continuous improvement performance, will be able to design their courses orientated to the students´ self-learning for their working life. Other relevant objective of this methodology is related to the improvement of teachers´ didactic methods, that is, the possibility of learning for teachers with the purpose of a higher level of innovation implemented in their teaching activity.
