Abstract:
Law 11,180 of September 23rd, 2005 and ordinances regulate Tutorial Educational Program from MEC/SESu in Brazil. In Três Rios Institute, it means working together with four undergraduate courses: Business Administration, Law, Economics and Environmental Management Bachelor, which reinforces concentrated planning in the field of applied social sciences. In this sense, the expectations of students included a research subject that could have improved one’s perception over local organizational and environmental demands. In this work, students were stimulated to investigate the organization (Administration), the legal demand (Law), the economic structure (Economy) and the types of cooperatives that could be designed (Environmental Management Bachelor) for local services. Três Rios, a city in the interior of Rio de Janeiro, that’s a growing industrial centre and, despite supporting existing companies that use skilled labour, still there is a strengthening potential for organic agriculture, eco-tourism and the preservation of a water resort, which demands the local community to take an entrepreneurial approach. Based on this, the group have worked within a multidisciplinary approach, and they have developed a booklet, containing clear instructions to create cooperatives. After that, the manuscript, entitled "Cooperation and Development", was given for the population during the National Week of Science and Technology, in 2014.
