Abstract:
The project titled "Indigenous Land in the Virtual World: Strengthening Identities through Minecraft" proposes an innovative approach to promote digital inclusion and strengthen the identities of indigenous communities through the game Minecraft. The central objective is to empower indigenous communities to virtually create and explore their own lands while preserving their culture, traditions, and ways of life. The research is based on the premise that using Minecraft as an educational and cultural tool provides a versatile platform for the empowerment of indigenous communities. By actively engaging in the construction of their virtual spaces, indigenous communities become protagonists in the process of representing their identities, contributing to the strengthening of their self-esteem and cultural pride. Furthermore, the project aims to stimulate collaboration and knowledge exchange among different indigenous communities, enabling them to share their experiences and traditions in a virtual manner. This contributes to strengthening solidarity networks and valuing cultural diversity. In the context of Minecraft, indigenous communities have the opportunity to acquire technological and digital skills while learning about their own histories, cultural practices, and challenges they face. The project seeks to raise awareness about indigenous issues, both within the communities themselves and among the general public, through the creation of virtual spaces that address relevant themes such as environmental preservation, indigenous rights, and respect for cultural diversity. The academic significance of the project lies in its multidisciplinary approach, integrating aspects of education, technology, cultural preservation, and social inclusion. Additionally, the project aligns with national policies on digital education and data protection while promoting a fairer and more equitable society. It is expected that by investing in the use of Minecraft as an empowering tool for indigenous communities, the project will contribute to the strengthening of cultural identity, access to quality education, civic engagement, and sustainable economic development of these communities. Moreover, the project aims to generate valuable knowledge and insights into digital inclusion and cultural preservation practices, with the potential to guide similar initiatives in other regions and contexts.
