Abstract:
The goal of this study was to identify the profile of seniors who use mobile devices (MD) for educational purposes. A qualitative and quantitative research methodology was used. The collection instrument was a questionnaire with objective and clear questions. The target group was elderly people in Brazil who were involved in private or public institutions carrying out digital inclusion actions. The data collected and analysis allowed us to glimpse a public that has a certain maturity and relationship with mobile devices, especially smartphones. The consumption of information is one of the main activities performed using MDs, specifically researching materials, searching for news, as well as image sharing. Usability, or the lack thereof, was pointed out as the decisive factor when using mobile devices, resulting in visual fatigue and other types of discomfort when handling these resources. Keywords:
