Abstract:
The increasing possibilities offered by Information Technology and Communications favor interactive learning systems that are increasingly present in teaching. An essential aspect of learning in studies of Engineering and Architecture is the presence of the cycle: "hypothesize, test the hypothesis, evaluating data, making the conclusion from modifying data and repeat until consistent conclusions." The tool studied in this paper facilitates the implementation of this cycle as a methodology for the teaching-learning process. Jupyter Notebook (JN, also called Ipython Notebook) provides integrated interactive manuals that allow making different mathematical models, simulate, verify and test development on them. In this communication, the fundamentals of JN are presented, providing a case study to visualize the benefits of this tool against those of other traditional approaches. Finally, the conclusions of the advantages provided by the IN are detailed and some of the possible fields of application to teaching and research tasks.
