Abstract:
ChatGPT can be used as a learning tool. Reflect- Interact-Create (RIC) is a ChatGPT-based model to develop students’ critical thinking skills. The model incorporates critical thinking skills into the learning process which helps students deal with different types of problems efficiently. The evolution of learning using Artificial Intelligence starts with ChatGPT generated code, student self-explores his knowledge by understanding the code and by evaluating his ability to add test cases, to enhance the code or to generate a better solution. The second step: a student interacts with another student to reconsider his decision; the last step is when both students generate a new solution to the problem. The model is recurrent. A student can repeat the three steps until he is able to create a better or similar solution to problems with different levels of difficulties.

The evaluation of student performance after activities was measured based on two learning outcomes problem-solving and teamwork efficiency. At the end of the semester, a validated critical thinking skills test is used to assess the skills used to problem-solve more effectively by analyzing situations systematically and the skills used to think and reason independently, question data, and use their findings to contribute actively to their team.

The statistical analysis of the data collected shed lights on the fact that ChatGPT is an opportunity to innovate rather than a threat and an opportunity to improve how teams collaborate and collectively solve problems.

In other words, RIC is a chance to grow with artificial intelligence. Students perform problem-solving and decision-making more effectively.
