Abstract:
At present, the observation in the classrooms of a progressive general deterioration of the comprehension and use of the medical and scientific terminology by the students is increasing. The difficulty and need for understanding such jargon is directly proportional. These skills are not contemplated in the curricula in any particular subject, a situation that favors the tendency to neglect in its learning. The direct consequences of this situation are insufficient academic training, and the poor effectiveness of the communication of the student who is finally inserted in the work environment, which has a negative impact on their employability and professional performance. The new pedagogical trends reinforce the use of virtualization and digitalisation as a way to achieve maximum profitability of the students ' formative process. The "gamification" is an innovative tool to encourage student self-learning in an attractive and dynamic way.

The objective of this study is the design, development and application of an app that allows learning, in a playful format, of scientific and medical terminology, intended for university students that courses scientific or biomedical degrees, and for the general population interested in better management and understanding of such specific vocabulary.

For that purpose, the stages of the project will be:
1) Selection of scientific terms.
2) Design and development of the app.
3) Pilot study.
4) Evaluation of the pilot experience.
5) Expanded project implementation.
6) Presentation of the tool to those responsible for the curricula. 7) Dissemination of the tool to the university students and general population.
