Abstract:
Chemistry is a practical discipline and many of the shapes in the artistic word can find a correlation in chemical structures. Chemists can be considered artists, because they create molecular structures with a great variety of functions and shapes. Those structures can be artistic, that mean, they can produce emotions, pleasure and a sense of beauty that is the concept of an artistic work.

In order to foster the learning of chemistry, we have introduced several concept of the artistic shape of the molecules in our chemistry courses, to convince students to learn more about the basic concept of chemistry, with a hint to the artistic world. In this way we correlated the symmetrical array of the molecules with natural formations or man-made buildings, monuments, sculptures, paintings and many more expression of art.

Molecules consist of atoms with bonds; with the proper synthetic work many different structures can be produced. Actually more than 90,000,000 organic compounds are reported in the scientific literature. Many of this structure can be correlated with existing works of arts. Finding the relationship between chemical structures and works of arts, is a powerful tool for chemists students to learn more about molecules and how they are synthesized.
