Abstract:
An interdisciplinary team, engaging the areas of systems engineering, graphic design, pedagogy and speech pathology, conducted this research. It started from the needs of preschool level children (4-6 years) in relation to their communication, linguistic and cognitive skills.

The teachers considered that those children needed to attend the speech therapy services because of deficiencies in their communicative, cognitive or linguistic skills. The Colombian University Manuela Beltran, sponsored by the Administrative Department of Science, Technology and Innovation - Colciencias, designed a videogame that would help in the developing of communication skills.

The methodology was conducted in three phases. The first one was exploratory; it had the purpose of finding evidence of studies to strengthen the mentioned skills in children. The second phase was the technological design and architecture of the game. Finally, the last phase was performed through the implementation of the game, which was meant to identify if it would strengthen those skills in the children.
