Abstract:
Russia is at the next stage of its development: the future of the country depends on the values which would be attractive to young people in the 21st century. The value orientations of young people are determined by the behavior of the Russian elite, norms, and ideals that are proposed in the process of higher education. Currently, a new generation of the Russian intellectuals is being formed in the process of professional training in higher education. This generation will determine the priority socially significant values and the humanitarian component of the country in the first half of the 21st century. The purpose of the research is to study and analyze the results of diagnostics of socio-psychological attitudes of a higher school student aimed at a stable predisposition and readiness of the individual to action focused on a socially significant object. We used a systematic approach that makes it possible to explain the way any system develops and functions. The use of such a method becomes possible when the research is faced with the task of explaining the integrative properties of an object that is not the result of a simple summation of parts, and whose properties cannot be identified from the features of its constituent elements. We were based on the theory of socialization and the theory of the professional development of the individual. The empirical part of the article is the result of the diagnosis of socio-psychological attitudes of a higher school student aimed at a stable predisposition and readiness of the individual to action focused on a socially significant object that contributes to social development.
We have reached the following conclusions:
1. Students attracted the attention of researchers from various scientific schools in connection with the development of the education system in Russia. The interest in the problems of value orientations of students is primarily caused by dynamic changes in society, the need to have an idea of the value system, aspirations, and needs of young people in the new socio-economic conditions in Russia. These issues are reflected in the works of Russian and foreign scientists.
2. The values that developed among young people at the beginning of the 21st century were mainly individual and personal. They were associated with an increased role of the material factor and awareness of that circumstance. That is why, such values as one's health and readiness to do anything, as long as it is well paid, came out in the first place.
3. Diagnostics of socio-psychological attitudes of a high school student were conducted using a questionnaire consisting of 40 questions (the author is O. V. Potemkin) and aimed at identifying the orientation of the individual to freedom, power, work, and money. The study was conducted in three universities in Yekaterinburg. The number of respondents was 732 people. As a result, two large groups were identified: "social anarchists" and "social altruists". Keywords:
Socially significant object, personality, student, higher school, socially-oriented action.
