Abstract:
In world practice, there are two directions of training in corporate universities, namely: the first one is educational and developmental, the second one is innovative and transformative. It is noted that the second direction is more appropriate for the functioning of corporate universities in Russia. It is more difficult to implement this direction, because it requires the use of innovative approaches to training and development. The paper proposes one of the such methods. This method is called cascade training, which has shown its effectiveness and highly appreciated by the owners of several Russian companies. The cascade training is a system of reception and transmission of new knowledge. The essence of which is that the company's top managers are trained in specialized programs (e.g. MBA). Having knowledge and realized the possibility of their use in their enterprises, senior managers conduct training of heads of departments, which, in turn, carry out training subordinates. This article deals with the application of different forms of cascade training in accordance with the intended objectives. The algorithm of usage of this method is described. The strengths and weaknesses of the cascade training are presented based on analysis of statistical data obtained after the application of this method on several industrial enterprises. Implementation of the principles of the cascade training allows us to provide consolidation of the company's management, to develop a common vision and understanding of the key issues for the development of representatives of various departments and levels, to reorient them to systematic work, based on active cooperation, as well as to increase the responsibility of employees for their performance. In this article we describe the results of our experience to use this cascade methods for teaching top managers of some Russian companies and enterprises.
