Abstract:

A Webquest is an inquiry-oriented lesson format in which some or all the information that learners interact with comes from the web. (Dodge, 1995a).The basis of a Webquest (March, 1998) is to promote motivation and authenticity, to develop thinking skills and to foster cooperative learning.
Our students had to carry out a project in groups of 3 or 4 people. The project was described in the Webquest. They were proposed a task (Renau & Maestro, 2008), with clear and concise characteristics. The students followed a process and did some tasks such as reading, comprehension of the information selected, organise, analyse and summarise the information provided. After the implementation of a Webquest to practise English grammar, students taking the English for Labour Relations course, answered a questionnaire mainly focused on their impressions of the group work. In general, students were very satisfied with this learning experience.
Our main objective when working with groups was, as Johnson & Johnson enlightened (2000), to get a positive interdependence, to promote interaction, to hold individual and group accountability, to enhance interpersonal and small group skills and to improve the group processing.
